Visitation Monastery

I have been photographing the nuns of the Visitation Monastery of Minneapolis for years, and I’ve known them for about 20. I’m interested in the story of these women who have chosen a life dedicated to God and their neighbors. They live in two big old houses tucked in north Minneapolis, a racially and economically diverse place. The kindness and warmth these seven Sisters offer to anyone who rings their door is unusual. I’m drawn to their joyful, non-judgmental hospitality, and I want to document their way of life.
