I’ve been photographing since receiving my first camera at age 9, but I’ve been photographing more seriously for the past 15 years. I started attending Wing Young Huie‘s monthly photography salons in 2006. My learning with Wing has taught me to value the craft of an image and to face what’s scary. For me photography is a spiritual discipline, helping me to see further into life.

I like to use humor, unlikely juxtapositions, images that make you wonder or laugh or feel. I want to tell stories about people and heart in an offbeat and authentic way. I’m interested in themes of hospitality, untold stories, religious life, health care, social justice, and loneliness.
